May Morris called the three-volume biography of her father – William Morris: Artist, Writer, Socialist. This site explores all three sides to this extraordinary man whose life’s work and ideas brought him to the conclusion that only socialism would re-unite human labour with the joy of production, the outcome of which, for Morris, was art. A socialist society would save art and in doing so progress humanity to a much better future, free of all oppression and the unhappiness that he witnessed all around him.

This site is a celebration of his art, his life and the importance of his socialist ideas.

Once inside please brouse as you please. Sometimes just a click on an image will open up other doors of discovery.
